Ok, onto the next episode... we're now at the 4th episode of 6 in the second season.

Season 2 - Episode 4 - "The Dinner Party"
Jen and her new boyfriend, Peter File, are hosting a dinner party for six of their single friends. However all of the men are unable to come at the last minute and Jen invites Roy, Moss, and Richmond to take their places. Moss pairs up with the first of the three single female friends, and the two of them inadvertently start acting as if they're married. Richmond unexpectedly hits it off with the second of Jen's friends. And Roy learns that the third friend was once a model, but her face is presently obscured by bandages. As such, Roy can't tell if she's still as beautiful as she used to be, which affects his decision about whether or not to ask her out.

This is a good episode for Richmond! He's a great character!

Good quotes:
"Oh is that the end of the story? AWWWW"
"Nutjobs... I hope you're not referring to me!"
"MEMORY IS RAM!! (c:

Season 2 - Episode 3 - "Moss and the German"
Moss tries to liven up his life by enrolling in a German cookery course. It turns out that the German is actually a cannibal seeking someone willing to be eaten (a parody of the Armin Meiwes incident) and the advertisement contained some fairly important translation errors. Meanwhile, Roy is trying to watch a pirated DVD, and after a couple of failed attempts volunteers to be the German cannibal's next meal in order to watch it on his impressively large home entertainment system. In a separate subplot, Jen, now a smoker again, finds the company smoking area reminiscent to the atmosphere of a Communist regime (in a parody of bleak and melodramatic Dr Zhivago-style films).

my youtube is acting weird right now (and yes, I tried turning it off and back on again, and yes, it's definitely plugged in...), so I am unable to watch the clips to put up some quotes! but here are the clips for you to watch, and hopefully you aren't having the same problem as me.

Quotes (that I remember):
"And then steal it AGAIN!!"
"There's somebody at the door.... there's somebody at the door..."
"You're my wife, Roy, you're my wife!" - I think that's this episode, I apologize if I'm wrong!

Part 1 -

Part 2 -

Part 3 -

annnnnnnnnnnnd as usual, here are the direct links for you people....
Part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLZaqPho_ww&feature=related
Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBYNRG0Cp6U&feature=related
Part 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2QCVaULzFw&feature=related

This has been a trademarked broadcast of Dave Oblas.

The IT Crowd - Season 2 Episode 2

Well, there's not much that can top that last episode, and although the rest of the season isn't as great as the first episode, they are still just as good if not better than the first season! Here's a look at the next episode! This is another great episode for Roy... his scene in the Church is HILARIOUS!!

Season 2 - Episode 2 - "Return of the Golden Child"
Roy buys a new mobile phone with lots of features, but a weak vibrate setting, so Moss offers to "pimp it out" for him, where he sets the vibrate setting up so high that they decide to put it in their pants and let it vibrate for fun. At the same time, Moss is subjecting Roy to an online quiz about his general health and well being, which tells him he is going to die Thursday at 3pm. When Denholm commits suicide during a meeting, his funeral is set for Thursday at 3pm. Before the funeral, Denholm's successor reveals that he despises the IT department and wants nothing more than to fire them. Moments before Denholm's successor goes through with his termination of the IT department, Denholm's estranged son—and rightful successor—Douglas (Matt Berry) bursts into the funeral and takes over the company, thereby saving their jobs and firing Denholm's original successor. The episode ends with Roy and Moss giving Douglas Roy's phone, and having him let it vibrate in his pants (which takes him "almost to the station").

Quotes you ask? well sure...
"THURSDAY!??!?!!?!"
Moss drops the F-bomb in this episode! - just a warning! (great quote for it tho)
"40 a day? That's 146,002 a decade... presuming there's 2 leap years"
"I totally PIMPED your phone girlfriend!"
"I'm not putting it up to 8 Moss, it'll blow my C*** off!"
"Sorry for your loss. (episode 1)

Well, after a long break, it's now time to post the Season 2 episodes of The IT Crowd. This season is just as good as the first season, but what I like about these videos is that we finally get to watch the whole opening sequence. It has a hilarious animation of our 3 favorite characters bashing a computer, and it looks like an old video game (which I currently can't remember the name).

So lets get things started...

Season 2 - Episode 1 "The Work Outing"
When Jen is asked to the theatre for a date, Moss and Roy invite themselves along, then make her doubt the heterosexuality of her date. She wonders further when the play turns out to be a production of "Gay! - A Gay Musical", during which Moss and Roy are mistaken for a couple during the audience participation segment. At intermission, neither Roy nor Moss are able to use the toilets because of an attendant, so they use the disabled and staff facilities (respectively) and are forced to adopt appropriate identities when caught. In the end, Jen confronts her date about his heterosexuality because of the play they just saw, and he tries to cover it up by saying you don't have to be gay to like a gay musical. However, when Jen mentions how he wanted to read a copy of Heat, he then buckles and comes out about his homosexuality, saying he hoped a relationship with Jen would work because she looked like a man.

This, in my opinion, is one of the funniest episodes that they made. There is a couple of pure laugh out loud moments, especially towards the end. It's a great watch! (c:

I'm going to skip that good quotes today, but next time I'll include them again! BUT... as you may know, most of my quotes from last season were from Moss, but this episode I really think Roy has taken the top marks. He has some hilarious lines and situations, I think every quote I put on here would have been from him! During this break, I decided to provide some more entertaining videos, but this time, it's in the way of dancing!

Over the past few weeks, I have been watching the popular tv show called "So You Think You Can Dance?" This season they have some absolutely great dancers, but my favorite dance genres include popping, b-boys, and "the robot" haha. This brings me to my favorite dancer of all time, Robert Murraine aka Mr. Fantastic. He auditioned this year, and absolutely blew the judges away (and myself for that matter!)

One of the best poppers/robotics I have ever seen, here is his audition video.

As usual with my videos, here's the direct link incase the embedded version doesn't work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3y5PG_GtRa8

This was absolutely amazing. he made it through to Vegas, but then decided to bow out of the competition because he couldnt do anything but his own style. obviously! BUT!!! they brought him back last week to dance on the show, and blew me and the judges away AGAIN. here's that video... genius.
Embedding has been disabled for this video, so just follow the link...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3Infd7HQDk

Now, at the end of that video, they mention having a dance off between him and Philip Chbeeb, coincidentally one of my other favorite dancers that I've ever seen. Here is his audition from LAST year, and his audition from THIS year. he has gotten better, and a bit more ghetto, over the 1 year break.

Last year

Direct Link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyzJU7SDhn4

This year

Direct link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnWUAEUgPP4

He made it to Vegas this year, but then when the Vegas shows started, I didn't see him anywhere, so I have no idea what happened. I would LOVE to see a dance off between the 2 of these guys though... it would be absolutely amazing. Hats off to both of them!
This has been a trademarked broadcast of Dave Oblas.

The IT Crowd BLOOPERS!! Wowsers! This is the final episode of the first season. As usual, if you're reading this post, and you havent watched the previous 5 episodes of The IT Crowd, you have to go back to the start, do not collect $200. You just won't understand everything!

So what would an episode be without some great quotes that don't really say anything about the episode, but are sometimes the best quotes ever! Who am I to take that away from you people? (you people you...)

Quotes!
"The toilet cleaners!! They said we couldn't do it!!"
"How would I get on her nerves??"
"When I had the baby, I look down and saw that it was my father!"
"Smarties cereal........."
"oh noooooo!!!!"
"Mom?!?!"

AND MAKE SURE YOU WATCH TIL THE VERY END!!! CLASSIC!!!!

Episode 6 - "Aunt Irma Visits"
Jen's menstrual cycle (nicknamed Aunt Irma) has unexpected consequences for the office, with her colleagues all directly suffering from the associated effects. After Moss sends an email about it to everyone he knows in the IT Community it incites "Aunt Irma" riots and disturbances throughout the world. It's decided that the only cure is to have a big "girly night in" with scented candles, and watching the movie Steel Magnolias, but they are obliged to go to the company "Thank-You" party, where they get incredibly drunk.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

blah blah blah, direct links here
Part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usFEsJXuE-c&feature=related
Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiUTYABXY9Q&feature=related
Part 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVVbVCAncLM&feature=related
This has been a trademarked broadcast of Dave Oblas.

The IT Crowd (part 5)

And we're back!! well, assuming you've been paying attention, this is the 5th of 12 episodes of the IT Crowd. if you haven't been paying attention (Kevin...), please go back and watch whichever episodes you missed before watching this one! The story spreads, and the office gathers for a memorial. Denholm invites his friend Elton John, and Bill starts telling everyone that he was the last person to sleep with Jen. Meanwhile Roy has garnered the attention of Judy, the unattractive office cleaner, instead of Julie, the attractive girl from the fifth floor, and is trying to shake her.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Annnnndddd of course once again, if the videos aren't working, here are the direct links!
Part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FU8WMeoz4as&feature=related
Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNJlDRSbyj0&feature=related
Part 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrSxRESpi0Q&feature=related
This has been a trademarked broadcast of Dave Oblas.

The IT Crowd (part 4)

Glad you could all join for the 4th episode of The IT Crowd. Apparently this has been slowly catching on, because today, we watched the first 3 episodes! All over lunch of course, so no work was missed (naturally, we wouldn't think of doing anything other than work during the actual work hours).

Now then, on to the 4th episode. In this episode, a new, and ever hilarious character is introduced - Richmond the goth.

Here are my favorite quotes from this episode. (Coincidentally, these are all spoken by Moss)
"Would I blow everyone's mind if I ate dessert first?"
"This flipping circuit board, Jen!"
"Jimminy Jones, look, the nature of the thing happening has changed slightly, rendering it yet MORE interesting!"

Episode 4 - "The Red Door"
While Roy becomes stuck under a desk with Moss attempting to rescue him, Jen investigates the strange red door in the basement, leading to her discovery of Richmond, a lonely goth and the fourth member of the IT department. Jen discovers Richmond's fall from grace through a series of flashbacks and tries to help him, while Roy tries not to become a "desk rabbit" (a term Moss coined for the situation).

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Once again, as usual, if the videos don't work, here are the direct links!
Part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ourkx1k3dWQ&feature=related
Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dz1LNNc9he8&feature=related
Part 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFH6ADNpfsU&feature=related
This has been a trademarked broadcast of Dave Oblas.

The IT Crowd (part 3)

Well, 2 episodes down, 10 to go!! Moss and Roy attend, but Jen is distracted by a shoe shop and purchases a pair of shoes—despite their being two sizes too small—on her way to work. At the seminar Roy and Moss become infatuated with the "stress tester" the speaker used, prompting Moss to build his own and start a fire in the basement. Unfortunately, throughout the episode fake commercials aired for a changeover in the emergency phone number from "999" to "0118 999 881 999 119 725 3" causing problems in getting help.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

If the videos dont load, here are the direct links
Part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOrjRh0aaq4&feature=related
Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSKIIiE8py4&feature=related
Part 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jybB8IYgBOk&feature=related
This has been a trademarked broadcast of Dave Oblas.

The IT Crowd

as you may have assumed, I have been failing to come up with things creative enough to actually post to this blog. Butterfinger is changing it's name to "The Finger"!!!

Apparently they thought the name Butterfinger was too controversial... relating to people who are clumsy and drop things easily... It was pretty neat, so I dug deeper. The deeper digging lead me to Julian Beever's website. This guy is an amazing artist, most of his work being on city sidewalks and streets. He's pretty clever, and I think he had a Coke sponsor for awhile too, because a lot of his drawings show Coke bottles or cans. He's ridiculously creative... here are a few of my favorites...

Here he is sitting on an ice block in the arctic fishing for a whale..

Here he is on the ledge of a burning building about to be saved by batman and robin..

Here he is feeding a real live young child to a huge lobster...

And here he is diving into a pool under a waterfall next to a building on support beams...

Some pretty cool stuff!! Well, Pluto is back!! Along with Pluto, 2 other "dwarf planets" have been named to be included in our new 11 planet solar system.

Ceres - which was originally thought to be an asteroid between Mars and Jupiter
Eris - an object that is slightly larger than Pluto, and further from the sun.

So now, our solar system has 11 planets:
Mercury
Venus
Earth
Mars
Ceres
Jupiter
Saturn
Uranus
Neptune
Pluto
Eris

Congratulations to Pluto, my all time second favorite planet, for making it back on the list and bringing it's tiny dwarf friends with it. It worked out great, because I scored an almost new system, 2 controllers, 2 memory cards, a remote, and 17 games for only $125. The marketplace here at Lehigh Valley Hospital is amazing!

It's great because I only ever owned Nintendo systems, but my roommates in college always has playstations, so I always played all of the playstation games! Now I get to reunite myself with some of my favorite games, such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which was included in my purchase!).

Now all I have to do is find Kingdom Hearts in stores somewhere. For some reason I absolutely loved that game.
This has been a trademarked broadcast of Dave Oblas.

Listen up!!

Ok, just added a LISTEN UP section on the left side of my page here, it currently features quotes from Office Space. It's great!

In other news, did you know that Hitler was a Dallas Cowboys fan?? Go figure. That's what all the actors seem to die of these days. It would be great if we could hear of one dying of old age once in awhile, but the problem with that is that by the time they reach an old age, everyone has already forgotten about them!

But seriously now, I always liked Heath Ledger as an actor, mostly in Patriot, and Lords of Dogtown. My favorite scene features Elaine in a bizarre battle of the lungs with a repeat character named Rebecca De Mornay, who works for a homeless shelter. Here is that argument:

Rebecca: Excuse me, I'm Rebecca De Mornay from the homeless shelter.
Elaine: Oh, hi.
Rebecca: Are you the ones leaving the muffing pieces behind our shelter?
Elaine: You've been enjoying them?
Rebecca: They're just stumps!
Elaine: Well they're perfectly edible.
Rebecca: Oh, so you just assume that the homeless will eat them, they'll eat anything?
Mr. Lippman: No no, we just thought...
Rebecca: I know what you thought! They don't have homes, they don't have jobs, what do they need the top of a muffin for? They're lucky to get the stumps.
Elaine: If the homeless don't like them, then the homeless DON'T have to eat them.
Rebecca: The homeless don't like them!
Elaine: Fine!
Rebecca: We've never gotten so many complaints! Every two minutes, "Where is the top of this muffin? Who ate the rest of this?"
Elaine: We were just trying to help!
Rebecca: Why don't you just drop off some chicken skins and lobster shells!
Elaine: I think I might!

Simply classic. Rebecca is the one who also threw George out of a homeless shelter for trying to sell them a "flagged" book from Brentano's book store. Flagged meaning of course that he had it in the bathroom with him. Instant bio-hazard.

Anyway, the reason I bring this up, is because I would LOVE to receive a huge load of muffin stumps! Heck, I love the top of a muffin just as much as the next guy, but the stumps are still pretty darn good! How could someone not like them?? They had to bring in Newman as "the cleaner" to get rid of all the muffin stumps, heck I would have volunteered my muffin consuming services too!!

And then Kramer trying to get rid of them by going to dumps... genius! The guy working the booth at the Jiffy Dump is the same guy who was working the booth at the Jiffy Park (Wig Master 4/4/96), letting hookers turn tricks in the cars in the parking lot.

Top of the Muffin, To YOU!
This has been a trademarked broadcast of Dave Oblas.

Knight Rider... back again!

So I saw a commercial on TV the other day in the middle of my Steelers game (those bastards)... Apparently Knight Rider is coming back! It's Phase 2!

I don't think it will be as much of a success as the original, with out David Hasselhoff (<- hilarious website by the way) driving his trans-am, how could it possible be such a great hit?!

But apparently Herr Hasselhoff will be making a guest appearance as Michael Knight, although I'm not sure for how long. Who knows!!

Today, I'm going to post a video. Leeroy Jenkins is a character that someone made in the popular game World of Warcraft. This is the famous video of him and his guild going into a battle. His guild is planning out the attack while Leeroy is AFK (away from keyboard) apparently getting some chicken. When Leeroy returns, he runs into the battle leaving his guildmates behind in brief stunned silence before chasing after him. Many think he did this just to make fun of nerd-filled guilds who spend days planning out attacks, but others think he is just an idiot pot-head. Kristi came along with us, we talked about Jamaica, and we watched the "old people olympics" that my grandparents participated in (if you count shuffleboard). Christmas Music Sucks. And it really shouldn't be played before Thanksgiving. Stores this year have been playing Christmas music since November 1st. Just wrong. Anywho... life's been pretty smooth these days, lots of work, lots of play, yadda yadda yadda, I'm really tired today. I'm very succinct.
Onward and Upward!

Work Related Stuff
lvpglvpglvpglvpglvpglvpglvpglvpglvpglvpglvpglvpglvpglvpglvpglvpg.
That's about it. It's almost done actually!! (c:

Here at LVH, a 2007 Fortune 100 Best Company to Work For, we take our work very seriously. Today I put a binder clip on the back of Gail's shirt at around 3:15. she left @ 5, and I forgot to tell her that I put it there... so she will probably go home and find it on her shirt and right away know something is afoot. Then she will read this blog, and that will be the give away. I will not tell her, she will have to read this blog.

Personal Life Stuff
Well, I don't have to go to Kristi's banquet... yay! Instead we get to go to Gail's on Friday night!
Kristi had this brilliant idea that we should cook dinner for my parents once a week... I will say nothing more about it. So speaking of Christmas music, Gail just brought in a CD of Disco Christmas music today. It's certainly been awhile since I posted in my blog. A lot has happened since my last post!

Work Related Stuff
So for the past few days I have been working on the LVPG website. If you clicked on that link, that means that you got to see the OLD LVPG website, which in my opinion, is awful. I can't show you the new one, cuz its still in the makings, but eventually that link will change itself to the new site!

Aside from that, it's been nothing but work around here.

Wait! I lie! Last week, Tuesday after work, we went around to everyone's cubicles and Webbed them! You know that fancy web stuff that people put on their shrubs and walls and whatnot for Halloween. We used it on everyone's chairs and cubicles. It was fun (c:

Personal Life Stuff
I took a day off yesterday, which was great may I add. Kristi and I went to the mall to look at the new Apple store, I'm thinking of getting an iPhone... not sure yet though.

Video Games / Electronic Stuff
It has been decided that my "video game" section is going to be changed to "Electronic Stuff" so that I can cover all the movies that I watch as well as video games.

Anywho, as for video games, the night after my last blog post, I went and bought Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii. GREAT and ADDICTING game! Only problem is that they haven't made any controllers yet other than the one that comes with the game! Soooo if you want to play 2 player, one of you has to either go rebuy the game for 90 bucks or use the Wii remote! eww!
Yesterday I also bought Lego Star Wars which is absolutely hilarious. I accidentally cut up C-3PO!! he was hoppin around on 1 leg with no arms at one point... poor guy.

As for movies, I recently watched Wild Hogs... not too bad. I also just bought Clerks and Clerks 2, neither of which I have seen yet, but I'm a fan of the series.

Random Thought
I wish I had a dog... This weekend went too quick!

Work Related Stuff
Today we trained a few people on how to use the CMA, so they can manage their own content on lvh.org. It went great! It was fast, easy, and they completely understood what was being asked of them! Other than that, it was just another day as a web producer.

Today while browsing the internet at work, I came across 2 strange conditions that I believe I have:

Photophobia - an experience of discomfort (not a fear) in the eyes due to exposure to bright lights. Curse these blue eyes. I always thought I was part vampire... guess I'm wrong! )c:

Photic Sneeze Reflex - a medical condition where people sneeze when exposed to bright lights, and also sneeze many times consecutively. (may also make you sneeze when chewing REALLY strong mint gum - right dad??) Whenever I feel a sneeze that wont come out, I just look at the sun!

Here's a picture from the other day when everyone dressed up as me for Halloween.

From left to right, its Kevin (the Intern), Kathryn, Gail, and me. Notice the trademark blue shirt and khaki pants.

Personal Life Stuff
Friday's trick-or-treating was a bust, it rained, so they delayed it until Saturday night. We got maybe 30 kids to the door, and some were like 15-18 year olds not wearing costumes, so we sprayed them with a hose instead of giving them any candy. No costume, no treats. That's our policy, and we're sticking to it!

Here's some pictures of our pumpkins, First pic has all 4 of our pumpkins, second pic has my Husky pumpkin, and third pic has my Mean Man pumpkin. So I wasn't able to buy it yet, but debating whether to get it for my Wii, or for the PS2 (that we don't really have). Kevin already got it, so I'm looking forward to details from him before I buy it myself, even though it's inevitable that I will have it.

Working Out
Goin to the gym after work today!

Random Thought
Salami Salami Bologna.

This has been a trademarked broadcast of Dave Oblas.

Trick or Treat!

Well it's the Friday before Halloween, and all the little (and big) kiddies are getting in the mood for a lot of candy! Usually I have a pretty good costume for this holiday, but this year I wasn't quite creative at all... I pretty much dressed like myself!

Work Related Stuff
Ahh another day in the basement... (to quote Gail, the crazy red-head next to me). Today we had our Halloween party @ work. I haven't mentioned the people I work with yet, so I'll do that now. Kathryn is my boss, she's great and has a massive love for Huskies (me too!). Gail is the crazy red-head next to me, she has probably been working here too long for her own good, but she's hilarious. Kevin is our intern, he came to us at the end of the summer and will be staying with us until the end of November. Hopefully he sticks around after that! That's all of the web team. Small team, close team, great website.

So anyway, back to Halloween. Kathryn, Gail and Kevin all dressed up like me!! Blue collared shirt and khaki pants. That's my daily outfit, and it has been dubbed as the "web uniform". There are pictures, but I can't upload them yet!

Personal Life Stuff
Tonight all the little trick-or-treaters are coming around in my neighborhood! Kristi (my girlfriend) and I are going to be handing out candy at our door, where we will have 4 awesomely carved pumpkins hanging out. Pictures of the pumpkins and trick-or-treaters to come later!

Video Games
Well now, let me tell you a little about this joystick I just got!! YEESH! I go over to Gail's house once in awhile to play Battlefield 1942 with her husband Bill and a bunch of other guys. Well these guys are ridiculous with the flying of the planes, and of course I'm horrible because I use a mouse and keyboard. Well one guy left his joystick there, SO I NABBED IT! Holy cow, its so much easier now! Now I'm doing barrel rolls and flips and corkscrews... it's great!!

Working Out
My arms hurt. That's all I have to say about that.

Random Thought
How do they get the caffeine out of coffee beans to make De-caf?? I dunno!
This has been a trademarked broadcast of Dave Oblas.

First Post

Hello! My name is David Oblas, and I am an alcoholic. Just kidding! I am a web producer at Lehigh Valley Hospital, and I have taken on the assignment of researching/writing my own blog.

I have pondered over what I wanted this blog to be about, and after mulling over a few thoughts, I have come up with this list of 5 topics:

Work related things (ex: fun things that a web producer does)

Personal life things (ex: my friends/family/girlfriend)

Video games (yeah thats right)

Working out (just joined a gym 3 days ago)

Random thought (How much do you have to mash a peanut to turn it to butter?)

Each post that I make, I will try to include at least 3 of those 5 topics.

I am going to leave the "reader comments" area available for all posts, and I would love to hear some feedback, positive or negative.

One final thought before I finish this post, I notice that the HTML coding for this blogger isn't really full HTML... So if things look weird I may have to go back and edit them.
This has been a trademarked broadcast of Dave Oblas.
