Concrete Canvas

So I was checking out my iGoogle home page earlier today, and I clicked on an optical illusion that was a wall mural... It was pretty neat, so I dug deeper. The deeper digging lead me to Julian Beever's website. This guy is an amazing artist, most of his work being on city sidewalks and streets. He's pretty clever, and I think he had a Coke sponsor for awhile too, because a lot of his drawings show Coke bottles or cans. He's ridiculously creative... here are a few of my favorites...

Here he is sitting on an ice block in the arctic fishing for a whale..

Here he is on the ledge of a burning building about to be saved by batman and robin..

Here he is feeding a real live young child to a huge lobster...

And here he is diving into a pool under a waterfall next to a building on support beams...

Some pretty cool stuff!! He has a lot more on his website, I definitely suggest checking it out!

And for more of his work that's not listed on his website, just use Google Images to search for his name... I already did it for you.

11 Planets

So remember how they decided that Pluto was no longer a planet, and that we only have 8 planets in our solar system?? Well, Pluto is back!! Along with Pluto, 2 other "dwarf planets" have been named to be included in our new 11 planet solar system.

Ceres - which was originally thought to be an asteroid between Mars and Jupiter
Eris - an object that is slightly larger than Pluto, and further from the sun.

So now, our solar system has 11 planets:
Mercury
Venus
Earth
Mars
Ceres
Jupiter
Saturn
Uranus
Neptune
Pluto
Eris

Congratulations to Pluto, my all time second favorite planet, for making it back on the list and bringing it's tiny dwarf friends with it. That's what I like to call "dwarf's revenge". (soon to be listed in the urban dictionary.)

In other news, the term AUTHORITARD has been recently listed in the Urban Dictionary, brought to you by somebody named Obblie Gobblie in Allentown!

playstation 2

Well Thursday I bought Kristi a slimline Playstation 2 so that she can play her guitar hero without having to steal her brother's system. It worked out great, because I scored an almost new system, 2 controllers, 2 memory cards, a remote, and 17 games for only $125. The marketplace here at Lehigh Valley Hospital is amazing!

It's great because I only ever owned Nintendo systems, but my roommates in college always has playstations, so I always played all of the playstation games! Now I get to reunite myself with some of my favorite games, such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which was included in my purchase!).

Now all I have to do is find Kingdom Hearts in stores somewhere. For some reason I absolutely loved that game.
