Well there isn't that many people here today... which means that the few of us who are here get to party and do nothing constructive!! woo!! haha just kidding...

Personal Life Stuff

Well yesterday we went to the grandparents' place for Thanksgiving. The food was good this year! (very unexpected!) Kristi came along with us, we talked about Jamaica, and we watched the "old people olympics" that my grandparents participated in (if you count shuffleboard). It was funny, they had bacci, shuffleboard, golf, walking, and other strenuous activities!

Well, so far I've lost 6 pounds since I started... which is kinda neat cuz I really don't do all that much stuff when I'm at the gym! HAHAHA!

Last week, to finish out our lovely week here at our Fortune 100 company Lehigh Valley Hospital, we decided to go to Teppan Hibachi. So we rounded up the web troops, and dragged our good friends Josh and Matt along from over at Standing Stone Media. We had fun, but nobody got any soy sauce spilled on them. Very disappointing, Kevin. So that's 6 orders of Hibachi Chicken?

This weekend went well! I went to Kristi's home in Sunbury, we went shopping w/ her mom, and I forgot my wallet... so I couldnt buy anything... )c:
Then it started snowing on Sunday, so we took her dog out to play!! Poo Bear loves the snow! When we finally came in, Poo Bear just sat at our feet, looking at the door and whining. Yeah, what a tough life...

Friday we had game night over at Gail and Bill's. GREAT game night! There was 16-17 guys there playing and 2 or 3 more guys watching. We had it catered, some salad, and lasagna. everyone brought some sort of drink, and one guy even cooked up some fun stuff for us!! We played until about 1am, and then Kristi was tired, so we left.

Christmas Music Sucks

Yeah, that's right... you heard me. Christmas Music Sucks. And it really shouldn't be played before Thanksgiving. Stores this year have been playing Christmas music since November 1st. Just wrong. Anywho... life's been pretty smooth these days, lots of work, lots of play, yadda yadda yadda, I'm really tired today. I'm very succinct.

Today I put a binder clip on the back of Gail's shirt at around 3:15. she left @ 5, and I forgot to tell her that I put it there... so she will probably go home and find it on her shirt and right away know something is afoot. Then she will read this blog, and that will be the give away. I will not tell her, she will have to read this blog.

Well, I don't have to go to Kristi's banquet... yay! Instead we get to go to Gail's on Friday night!
Kristi had this brilliant idea that we should cook dinner for my parents once a week... I will say nothing more about it. So speaking of Christmas music, Gail just brought in a CD of Disco Christmas music today. It ALMOST makes them bearable, but not quite.

Well I have beaten "Episode 1" of the Lego Star Wars game. its still hilarious. I'm up to set #5 on EXPERT in Guitar Hero 3, even though I can't beat the last 4 songs on Hard...
Hopefully tomorrow Jeremy can come join us in playing Battlefield 1942 @ Gail & Bill's house, apparently there will be a lot of people there, and it's a bachelor party for Nate... should be interesting!

Work Related Stuff

So for the past few days I have been working on the LVPG website. If you clicked on that link, that means that you got to see the OLD LVPG website, which in my opinion, is awful. I can't show you the new one, cuz its still in the makings, but eventually that link will change itself to the new site!

Aside from that, it's been nothing but work around here.

Wait! I lie! Last week, Tuesday after work, we went around to everyone's cubicles and Webbed them! You know that fancy web stuff that people put on their shrubs and walls and whatnot for Halloween. We used it on everyone's chairs and cubicles. It was fun (c:

I took a day off yesterday, which was great may I add. Kristi and I went to the mall to look at the new Apple store, I'm thinking of getting an iPhone... not sure yet though.

Video Games / Electronic Stuff

It has been decided that my "video game" section is going to be changed to "Electronic Stuff" so that I can cover all the movies that I watch as well as video games.

Anywho, as for video games, the night after my last blog post, I went and bought Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii. GREAT and ADDICTING game! Only problem is that they haven't made any controllers yet other than the one that comes with the game! Soooo if you want to play 2 player, one of you has to either go rebuy the game for 90 bucks or use the Wii remote! eww!
Yesterday I also bought Lego Star Wars which is absolutely hilarious. I accidentally cut up C-3PO!! he was hoppin around on 1 leg with no arms at one point... poor guy.

As for movies, I recently watched Wild Hogs... not too bad. I also just bought Clerks and Clerks 2, neither of which I have seen yet, but I'm a fan of the series.

Work Related Stuff

Today we trained a few people on how to use the CMA, so they can manage their own content on lvh.org. It went great! It was fast, easy, and they completely understood what was being asked of them! Other than that, it was just another day as a web producer.

Today while browsing the internet at work, I came across 2 strange conditions that I believe I have:

• Photophobia - an experience of discomfort (not a fear) in the eyes due to exposure to bright lights. Curse these blue eyes. I always thought I was part vampire... guess I'm wrong! )c:
• Photic Sneeze Reflex - a medical condition where people sneeze when exposed to bright lights, and also sneeze many times consecutively. (may also make you sneeze when chewing REALLY strong mint gum - right dad??) Whenever I feel a sneeze that wont come out, I just look at the sun!

Personal Life Stuff

Friday's trick-or-treating was a bust, it rained, so they delayed it until Saturday night. We got maybe 30 kids to the door, and some were like 15-18 year olds not wearing costumes, so we sprayed them with a hose instead of giving them any candy. No costume, no treats. That's our policy, and we're sticking to it!

Video Games

Apparently Guitar Hero 3 sneaked up on me (sneaked? snuck?), I thought it was coming out NEXT week! So I wasn't able to buy it yet, but debating whether to get it for my Wii, or for the PS2 (that we don't really have). Kevin already got it, so I'm looking forward to details from him before I buy it myself, even though it's inevitable that I will have it.

Trick or Treat!

Well it's the Friday before Halloween, and all the little (and big) kiddies are getting in the mood for a lot of candy! Usually I have a pretty good costume for this holiday, but this year I wasn't quite creative at all... I pretty much dressed like myself!

Work Related Stuff

Ahh another day in the basement... (to quote Gail, the crazy red-head next to me). Today we had our Halloween party @ work. I haven't mentioned the people I work with yet, so I'll do that now. Kathryn is my boss, she's great and has a massive love for Huskies (me too!). Gail is the crazy red-head next to me, she has probably been working here too long for her own good, but she's hilarious. Kevin is our intern, he came to us at the end of the summer and will be staying with us until the end of November. Hopefully he sticks around after that! That's all of the web team. Small team, close team, great website.

So anyway, back to Halloween. Kathryn, Gail and Kevin all dressed up like me!! Blue collared shirt and khaki pants. That's my daily outfit, and it has been dubbed as the "web uniform". There are pictures, but I can't upload them yet!

Tonight all the little trick-or-treaters are coming around in my neighborhood! Kristi (my girlfriend) and I are going to be handing out candy at our door, where we will have 4 awesomely carved pumpkins hanging out. Pictures of the pumpkins and trick-or-treaters to come later!

Video Games

Well now, let me tell you a little about this joystick I just got!! YEESH! I go over to Gail's house once in awhile to play Battlefield 1942 with her husband Bill and a bunch of other guys. Well these guys are ridiculous with the flying of the planes, and of course I'm horrible because I use a mouse and keyboard. Well one guy left his joystick there, SO I NABBED IT! Holy cow, its so much easier now! Now I'm doing barrel rolls and flips and corkscrews... it's great!!

First Post

Hello! My name is David Oblas, and I am an alcoholic. Just kidding! I am a web producer at Lehigh Valley Hospital, and I have taken on the assignment of researching/writing my own blog.

I have pondered over what I wanted this blog to be about, and after mulling over a few thoughts, I have come up with this list of 5 topics:

• Work related things (ex: fun things that a web producer does)
• Personal life things (ex: my friends/family/girlfriend)
• Video games (yeah thats right)
• Working out (just joined a gym 3 days ago)
• Random thought (How much do you have to mash a peanut to turn it to butter?)

Each post that I make, I will try to include at least 3 of those 5 topics.

I am going to leave the "reader comments" area available for all posts, and I would love to hear some feedback, positive or negative.

One final thought before I finish this post, I notice that the HTML coding for this blogger isn't really full HTML... So if things look weird I may have to go back and edit them.
